On Sunday 23 November, eight of the group ignored the bad weather forecast and took the bus to Five Ash Down for a circular walk through the nearby fields and woods, passing Hendall Manor Farm and return to Cobdown Lane via Cobdown Farm. We then walked down to Nursery Lane and turning left made our way back to Coopers Green.
From here we walked up the old drive leading to Buxted Park Hotel, then turned right across the park to a track alongside the River Uck. Finally we walked along Hempstead Lane, turning down onto the Nature Reserve which brought us out at the railway station and a return by bus to Lewes. The weather turned out to be absolutely fine and we even had sunshine towards the end. In total we estimated the walk to be about 5 miles long. The walk was led by Penny and Sally.
