Despite the heat, 13 of us came on today's three mile stroll. We travelled by bus to Falmer Station. From there, we took the path through Stanmer Park towards the church, where there were several benches in the shade for a rest and drink. We proceeded uphill over farmland towards Sussex University. At the top we had a good view of the most recent building developments in the University campus. After descending, we visited the Forest Food Garden overlooking the University. John gave us a brief explanation about the Garden and the vision behind it. We walked back through shaded woodland with its avenue of beech trees and returned to Lewes by bus from Falmer village. The walk was led by Anne and John.
